Mentoring Channel - About Jason

Jason was born and raised in Southern California, never straying too far from home. He attended Pitzer College for his undergraduate studies, where he majored in Organized Studies and Psychology. While at Pitzer, Jason was a Resident Assistant for his sophomore through senior years, feeling that he could help other students while in this position. Jason was invited to write a senior thesis in Psychology, for which his research focused on the effect of parental monitoring on aggression from playing video games. In May of 2006, Jason graduated from Pitzer College with a full double major including honors in Psychology.

During his senior year, Jason participated in the Ronald E. McNair Post-Bacculaureate Achievement Program. From his participation in that program, Jason was accepted to Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, CA with a full fellowship. He is currently studying Social Psychology in pursuit of his Ph.D. He is interested in cognitive dissonance and how it could be applied to mulitple areas of life and to create prescriptions for change.
